To have waited months of anticipation for this game, to have suffered through Street Fighter 4, only to be disappointed beyond words by this game is a huge blow to my well being. I cannot begin to fathom how SNKP dropped the ball on this game. I thought I could ignore the tiny nit-pits about this game but when there are game play mechanics that have me going “THIS IS BULL S$@%” I cannot accept that. In no particular order my gripes with the game:
- 5 Stages, with 2-3 being variants of the same stage.
- Kim’s last name is omitted.
- The netcode.
- Not being able to quit a match being watched.
- Not being able to boot a person from the match.
- Not being able to actually Quick Match someone.
- Trophies/Achievements are borderline tedious for me to even bother to do. (BlazBlue had a better one).
- No story mode.
- No boss.
- No incentive to play the game with no extras outside of hard to unlock artwork even on EASY setting.
- No Challenge Mode.
- Watch the opening and tell me seeing Japanese text isn’t lazy for a game released in America?

While explosively stripping the evil pirate LeChuck of his demonic mojo, Guybrush Threepwood inadvertently infects the entire Caribbean with the arch-fiend’s expelled voodoo, which threatens to transform buccaneers into unruly pirate monsters. Pursued by a notorious cut-throat Pirate Hunter and a creepy French Physician who believes that Guybrush’s eerily-infected hand holds the secret of eternal life, Threepwood sails the seven seas in search of La Esponja Grande, a legendary sea sponge with unparalleled voodoo exfoliating abilities. But little does Guybrush know, his quest is part of a larger, more sinister plot, and good and evil are not always as they seem. (więcej…)
Ueda hardcorowcem, czyli najlepszy wywiad z Fumito Uedą by Szwedzi
Szwedzkie czasopismo LEVEL przeprowadziło wspaniały wywiad z twórcą ICO i Shadow of the Colossus, a Team ICO Gamers Blog zaprezentował nam wersję anglojęzyczną. Zdecydowanie warto to przeczytać, choćby ze względu na fakt, iż tekst ujawnia, że Ueda namiętnie nachrzania w gierki konkurencji, zamiast pracować nad The Last Guardian.

Now that everything’s in place, you’re lining up the pins
And needles down the longest trail,
You’ve got the answer but it lasts
As long as you can smile but pretty soon your cheeks will hurt
I’m not trying to make things worse
But you’re thinking in reverse
Now that everything is never too much…
